Museum Staff

James Rosengren, Executive Director

Responsible for all facets of the organization's operation.  Mr. Rosengren has a long history of museum experience, working for museums in Washington, Florida, and most recently the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston.  His broad range of experiences includes all aspects of museum operations: financial planning, fundraising, facility management and visitor services.   He joined the staff in August of 2018, and we are excited for the future of the museum.

Morris Gould, Chief Operating Officer, GRRM

Morris Gould is currently responsible for the museum's short line railroad, GRRM as well as overseeing the care and maintenance of the rolling stock. He started with the Museum in 1982 as a volunteer. He became a Board member in 1985 and continued in this capacity until accepting the Executive Director position in 2006.   In August of 2018, Mr. Gould retired as Executive Director and became the Chief Operating Officer of the GRRM.  With over thirty years railroading experience, Morris has been a key contributor in the Museum's success. He is not only acquainted with the needs of our Museum's success, he is dedicated in assuring that our success is properly orchestrated.

Jennifer Kelso, Marketing Director

Born and raised in the DFW area, Jennifer moved to Galveston in January of 2001.  She is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M Galveston.  Jennifer has worked in the Marketing field  for 20 years in Lubbock and the Houston-Galveston area. Jennifer started with the Museum in June 2018 and is responsible for public relations and marketing for the Railroad Museum as well as coordinating any special events like field trips, birthday parties, and weddings.

Sam Christensen, Curator & Collections Manager

Sam is from Fairhope, Alabama and received a Master's Degree in history and museum studies from the University of Delaware. He joined the Museum's staff in July of 2017, and is responsible for managing and interpreting the Museum's collection.

Lanette Pacheco, Gift Shop Manager

Lanette is originally from the Dallas area, joining the museum as a ticket agent in January 2016. She now works as our Gift Shop Manager, where she is filling the Gift Shop with great train-themed gifts and providing the best customer service possible.
